It seems that after Steams last (Forced) upgrade the game won't recognize my video card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745). When I boot up the game, I have to go into Options and set the video parameters. It usually goes into window mode and I have to reset over and over to get the correct settings.

I have updated the video card drivers but that did not help.

I do not want to reinstall the game as I am at level 270 and have completed all the quests.

Anyone else having the same problem?

    Any suggestions?

Have you sent a ticket in to Bethesda support (Link)? And have you tried editing the settings yourself in the .ini file in your main FO4 folder?

I would recommend doing a file integrity check of your game files through steam. As for your save game I would recommend using steam cloud, that way you will always have it even after a fresh reinstall.

Plus, if you do end up needing to reinstall, the saves are located in your Documents folder and can be manually backed up, I imagine.
