These scan exclusions in your security software might be necessary to run this trainer:

The trainer exe file (or the folder its stored in)

Mute Hotkeys:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To temporarily disable the Hotkeys, press CTRL-H after trainer is
activated. You can use CTRL-H to re-activate the Hotkeys as well.
Also, in the SETTINGS tab of the trainer, you can Mute the trainer
sounds, or also disable the hotkeys from there as well.


VR Mode

- HTC Vive
Click on the VR MODE button. Trainer options will now be drawn as buttons.
Activate the trainer as usual with your keyboard. Put your HTC Vive on and
when you are ingame press the MENU button on the hand controllers to open
the steam overlay. At the bottom you can click on the DESKTOP button and you
can easily press options on the trainer with your hand controller now.

- Oculus Rift
As of now the oculus has no unique input device and uses keyboard or xbox
controller. Both are supported by the trainer already.

This check is only performed on trainers that have been personalized for
individual use, not our PROMO or FREE trainers. If you want/need to use
the trainer offline, please go to our trainer troubleshooting page for
instructions on how to obtain an offline key to avoid online checks.

That's so weird. My update request has been denied since a tester was able to run the trainer successfully, but I just can't make it work. My problem is, I can activate the trainer alright, but trying to activate either of the options result in "failed". I've tried running both Steam and the trainer in admin mode, I've even went as far as uninstalled my antivirus (Windows Defender is disabled) and re-downloaded the trainer after that. I tried activating it in game main menu and in the game itself. I had this issue first back on Windows 7, and now that I've wanted to give it another chance after the sequel's release, I have exactly the same problem on Win 10. Never had such an issue with Cheat Happens trainers before.

Run through the following list

Delete trainer and all files in

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\0x90
C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens
C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens Temp

Reboot PC to clear excess memory, get a fresh copy of latest trainer, extract it and make sure trainer/launcher/editor is in a folder excluded from virus scans. Empty quarantine folder if needed or set anything trainer related (paths and EXE's) to ALLOW. Disable any Live/Active/Real-Time tools which may trigger false positives in security software which may terminate the game/trainer when it's activated or options used. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again. At times, a new game may be needed to resolve failed options if the data in your save file was altered. Use on a new game and test the option. If it now works, quit to main menu and load your save and try it again.

I wish this worked, but unfortunately it didn't. I deleted everything you said, re-downloaded the trainer and rebooted, also checked integrity of game files, .Net Core and Framework were apparently already installed, no antivirus active on my PC right now - Windows Defender is disabled, my standard antivirus is uninstalled. Ran everything as admin, tried on a new game. Still "failed".

Look like there have been 2 patches since the last trainer was posted.

Most likely needs updated.

Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

I did request an update. And looks like at least 2 other people did as well. And it was denied because a tester hadn't found anything wrong with the trainer.

[9:57 PM] Drazala: Well it won't prevent the cultist from spotting you if they are not suppose to chase you. If that makes sense. It will still trigger a death loop in the early game.

[10:01 PM] Drazala: Oh tell them to not let them chase you into a corner or you will get stuck. You will have to turn the option off to let them kill you.


Not sure if the above helps, I don't have a copy so not sure how the mechanics play out. The above steps should have cleared out any FAILED message. We may need a support ticket and request a teamviewer session to see what is happening on your end.

Oh and disabling Defender does not shut it all down, it is very important to add exclusions for certain trainers as they all use a different method when they hook to a game. It could still be blocking the trainers functions even though it activates. Another possibility is using a save that has either been damaged or already altered by a trainer and the addresses needed are changed. Sometimes happens if you use cloud saves. If not already done, start a brand new game and a new save slot.
