Shadow of the Tomb Raider Message Board  

So, T's and C's on this game specifically mention Denuvo protection. Do you guys have a way to turn this off (for off-line use only of course!)?

I far as I know Denuvo is an anti-piracy tool which has no effect on trainers, Even though they have announced plans to develop an anti-cheat solution,I don't think they have unveiled their Anti-cheat software yet.

Denuvo is the DRM tool of choice for today's AAA titles ( and has already been broken by those that can ). The DRM in a game can be a huge problem and tomb raider is an ubisoft game too .. remember when they dropped the last Simcity title? It was a DRM train wreck lol.

Good news is that the denuvo doesn't usually get in the way of playing your favorite game offline with CH trainers.

In short ; No way to turn off the DRM, but naturally there are work-around's

@Chewsmoka just real quick, its not a ubisoft game its square enix and simcity was EA/origin.

I hope they plan to develop that anti-cheat for multiplayer only. It really ****es me off that more and more devs use some anti-cheat for single player. You pay so much for a game, and you can't free do what you want with it. 😣

The only problem with Denuvo is theoretically in the future they may add something similar to battleeye or easyanticheat or xsign or faceit that goes kernel level and begins to prevent us from accessing the game process, then you have big problems

Denuvo already has 'some' anticheats, but for the most part in it's current form is a DRM ploy to prevent easy copying the game and redistributing it free. Honestly, we've actually like Denuvo, since it prevents stealing the game but allows modding/training of the game.
