We need to be able to use multiplayer games.

From the CHEAT HAPPENS FAQ:

Q: Why aren't there any cheats for multiplayer games or modes on your site?
A: CHEAT HAPPENS does not support or condone the use of cheats in a multiplayer environment.

CH never has and never will support MP cheating. - Period.

So far how much of a pain is it to hack this game? I'm mainly asking because I want to prepare myself just in case it gets put on hold because it's really early access. It's also for my wallet as I don't want to buy this and then you end up putting it on hold within a month like a few other games I've seen shut down in a month of release.

It's an Early Access title so it WILL update, how often it will update will be up to the devs making the game and something we have no control over. If it does become apparent that it is updating far to quickly to maintain, then yes it will go on hold. That is the risk and reality of any EA title that gets a trainer. Your safest route is to wait until they finish the game and then buy it.

Very sad that there's no way to edit skill levels with the trainer, and requesting features costs so much money
