Whatever version of Original Sin 2 you bought, PC users get the "Definitve Edition" upgrade for free. It's basically a 8GB+ update to the ORIGINAL title, in the form of a DLC, see this screenshot: Link

So, when you launch the game you select WHICH version of the game you want to play.
Much like the REMASTERED release of Homeworld, where you select Classic or Remastered.

For the trainers, we need to understand that there are now two seperate game executables:

    X:\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\Classic\EoCApp.exe

Which is the original "Classic" game.
    File size is: 35.7mb
    Game version: 3.0.226.993

    and then..

    X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\bin\EoCApp.exe

Which is the executable for the "Definitive Edition" of the game.
    File size is: 44.2mb
    Game version: 3.6.28.9550

The game trainer itself HAS been updated, but I'm not sure they took any of this into account, as SOME of the trainer options are acting funky in the DEFINITY EDITION version of the game.

Such as "Infinite Health" actually setting everyones health to 1, making it so you're instantly killed the second you take damage.

I have not extensively tested all of the other options, but things like infinite armour, carry weight, fast speed, etc seem to be working as intended.

As for the save game editor, I know the GAME DEVS have stated quite clearly that the saves are different and incompatible between "Classic" and "Definitive" versions of the game.

Trying to load a "Definitive" save into the currently available save editor just crashes it.

At any rate, hope this clear up some confusion, and here hoping the Cheat Happens devs enjoy the new "Definitive Edition" enough to continue supporting the tools. Thanks!

So you updated the trainer, but what about the savegame editor? That's the "TRAINER OUT OF DATE?" that I placed a report about. That's also the reason I boosted the update priority.

I'll forward it - please stay tuned.

Good for health, bad for education.

There has been a lot changes to the savegame structure. I might update it when I have time for it. Can I ask you what is so special about the editor makes you soo unhappy with just an updated trainer? Most of what the editor can you can also do with the trainer.

Me personally? Nothing. I have been using a Pak Extractor tool to modify the save files from the beginning. That said, not everyone can use the tool, as while it is easier then most, it still requires several steps, not all of them intuitive.

I also made a request to add the option of adding/removing tags, which is something a trainer can't do. Should the tag option be added to the savegame editor, than it would really increase the editor's usability and provide the easiest way of modifying tags. There are mods that allow adding tags, but currently the Pak Extractor tool is the only way of removing tags.

So you boosted and voted for an update with you don't need yourself? Hm, okay. Anyway it looked like they removed the points (attribute etc) outside of the characters tree. Also the item's tree is completely different. Item slot identifier is missing, some items have certain information others don't. Since you use pak extractor you may know the exactual savegame is like 30mb of plain text. It can take a great while to find what you need, this is why I've delayed the update until I've got the time to spend on it.

If you already figured something out which might help me saving time, feel free to send me a PM.

I suppose I was a bit unclear in my previous message. While I can make do with the Pak Extractor tool, it is cumbersome to use and takes time to complete the many individual steps. It is also not a savegame editor. And while the current editor doesn't do much beyond what the trainer does, if the add/remove tags option is added to the savegame editor, than I wouldn't have to use the Pak Extractor at all.

That of course doesn't detract from the other reason, hoping that easier to use tools would be available to those that can't use the more complex ones.

    Hey there,

I would love for this Savegame editor to be updated. I would rather not use the trainer as it really doesn't have a feature for editing traits/talents/abilities that are already chosen on a character nor can I give specific items. Also, as was stated earlier in this thread, it seems to not work for the definitive edition of the game. Thanks and cheers.
