and the install location (thanks google for helping me get access to it)

its been a bout 4 hours now of searching through my hard drives, (I do believe Larry Laffer had comments about that) and I have only found 💩 I thought was "fully" uninstalled ages ago.

I had trouble finding the correct location too until i did a custom search on my c: drive to search for files modified on the same day.

The savegame is located in this location:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Dayton_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\

The savegame folder will be in a directory with a very long hexadecimal name.

You should see some files in that folder corresponding to the time that you exit the game which will trigger the autosave.

Make a shortcut to that location on your desktop and copy the entire folder to your desktop to manually backup your progress.


Oh and you need to set your file explorer to be able to view hidden files. Otherwise you will not see it.
