Thank you, but I already knew it was a windows error. My reply was to the instruction to try a clean reboot (which I did) and do it the way suggested. What followed was that error from windows.
Still - After trying all kinds of ways of doing this I now got the following windows error:
"Unknown file version ..FarCry5\bin\fc_m64.dll
Now, I have -only- used a clean Steam, install of this game. I preloaded it one day before release, but that is all.
Re-verify file integrity via STEAM.
I really cannot get past trainer not finding the game. I have tried all the outlined steps, restarted and tried them again (the game starts fine without the trainer, launching from Steam). I tried using F2 to set the game directory manually and I still get cannot find game. It clearly is finding the game though because the initial Far Cry 5 screen pops up with the synchronizing to cloud, then steam pops up to run with parameters, then I get unable to find game. Any thoughts on something I can try?
When you say "tried to use F2 to set directory" does that mean you did it or could not do it?
Just wanted to say thanks. It was not working in V1 but V2 works now! This is how i tried to make it that my trainer found the game:
I maked it sure that my avira was disabled after reboot and then installed the V2. Now I closed steam and uplay and started the trainer first and selected only the game dir with F2 and closed the trainer again. Now I've started the game without the trainer and closed the game after intro. Now I opened the trainer as admin (F5.exe aswell) and pressed F1 and it worked!
Can confirm this does work! Tried all options in game and they're working as expected.
Seems the best way to use the trainer then is;
Start trainer > F2 > Find game dir > Close trainer
Run game > Close after intro
Run trainer as admin > F1
Thanks to both CH and matshek for getting this trainer working 😀

doing it your way
and its still thinking its in the last directory i had which was C:
i have reinstalled the game twice now
and when it does that the trainer locks up and i have to close it with end task
if i close the trainer after i choose the right directory it resets and thinks it still in the last install place
gonna keep trying. when i do make this work i am getting enough skills and money to last me..all i really want
You can change which directory it launches from with F2. It shouldn't be looking anywhere but where you point it to.
As Wiz pointed out, you have to run the game at least once without the trainer etc on.
Then close the game out completely. Then start the trainer up and load the game through the trainer.
i did do it that way
if i close the trainer after i fight the directory. it resets when i press F1 when i reopen it after i open and close the game like i am suppose to
it gives me that error of not finding the directory
if i do it with the trainer open and do f2 to find the game then open the game and close it then press f1
it says trainer cant find game
i have tried it every which way
even re verified files
still get trainer can not find game
