Moving the game to a different drive, playing it, then moving back fixed the problem of activating without changing anything for me.
Edit for specific steps I took (half these probably aren't necessary): Opened game in original drive in both dx11 and 12 while activating a separate trainer each time. Then moved drives and opened in both versions of dx again, along with separate trainer. Afterwards, I moved back to original drive and turned on dx11, and trainer activated and worked. DX12 does not work properly and I get the activated but not changing anything stuff. Luckily switching back to 11 allows me to once again use trainer freely and safely in my own instance of the game.

One quick question please. For those who successfully runs the trainer, do you have the situation that after pressing 'F1', the sound 'please wait' and 'trainer activated' almost arise at the same time. It sounds like 'please wa-trainer activated'.

Thank you Cenotum, with your help, I found a minimal step solution to the problem some of us had. Now it's working for me and hope it works for others. Basically it's running the game on DX12, quit, then run on DX11.
1. Open Trainer
2. Select DX12 in settings and start game.
3. Press F1 in main room and Numpad 1 and 4.
4. Quit the game since it doesn't work on DX12.
5. Open Trainer
2. Select DX11 in settings and start game.
3. Press F1 in main room and all cheats should work now.
