Ok first of two points
Make sure the game is closed. Do integrity check on the game via steam options. Then close steam.
You need to run the trainer, there's a lot of room for problems, but that's the method they chose to stop cheating.

If you get locked out of multiplayer or are getting kicked from EAC while not using the trainer, use his trick mentioned here

Not really. We can get around it, but doing so would require us to do things that might violate the TOS. For now, this is the safest and only way we can release a trainer for this game for various reasons.
This isn't a war either, where sides win or lose. We are trying to give users what they want. The ability to play offline with bots and use mods or trainers. The developers are actually not giving users that desire this what they want, even thought its 100% possible for them to do and already feasible, so in the end the gamer loses.
