Do you own the Rise & Fall DLC and have it enabled as I mentioned above?

Our new trainer only works with new savegames. Old savegames from the pre-DLC version will not work with this trainer.

I was using a saved configuration to start the game.
Now it is working

FYI I recently had the trainer suddenly stop working and couldn't figure out why. Turns out it was a Win 10 option that allows users to record the game. There was a msg box saying "Press Win G to record" when you boot up the game. When I got rid of that option/box, the trainer worked fine again.

I found the trainer only works with the Rise and Fall ruleset. The game will crash using any other ruleset shortly after activating the trainer.

I think that was the reason why we named the trainer RISE AND FALL, closed the former main trainer thread and PWizard announced it there (Link) and started a new trainer thread here.

It's the same as with Civ V. Trainer is supporting only the base game + latest major DLC.

Thanks. I sent a report. I had no idea there was already an update that i didn't even notice or know of. I probably never considered to check that...my fault, sorry!
