I am a bit confused 🤔 by the instructions on option 1. When it states, "Choose your fighter" is it referring to the choose save slot or is there some further step involved?

The trainer is likely outdated. The dev (Manlio Greco) has an annoying habit of intentionally patching out the money options. He has done it since I first got it done in cosmos while testing for him. If this bothers you as it does me I suggest you take it up with him. Though feel free to file an update report here too.
The other two options work fine, but for whatever reason, the money portion of the trainer even after I follow the directions still doesn't work with the new update.
Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

As I have stated every time the game patches expect it to break. The dev seems to target that option specifically. He seems to have a particular hatred for single player cheats.

'Nothing works' like in ... you don't see the trainer user interface popping up or you're getting some error message ...?
As this is an Early Access title which shows multiple updates/patches in the past days and you writing that you followed the instructions of the trainer (aka not playing Survival mode), my best guess is that our trainer is already outdated and needs an update.

you wasted your money on a broken game. The developer of this poor mess of a game has patched it twice already (maybe more) since we put out our updated trainer literally 2 days ago. It's filled with anticheats and encryption so it's not the simplest trainer to make or update. We have about 20 other titles ahead of this trainer, and you are simply going to have to use our system to ask for an update. Go ask the developers why it's patching 4 times a week.
