Regarding the skill points resetting upon reloading a game. We didn’t make it work this way, the developers did. Your skill point totals are tied to your level and a few other things. There isn't a value that is holding the current number of skill points that you have. The trainer is tricking the game into letting you spend points you don't have, because you aren’t a high enough level to actually have those points. We already addressed how to address it. The only permanent way is to level up to an ungodly high level, which would be the normal progression of the game. The maximum level of the game is 132, which gives you about 700+ skill points. There is no specific address in the game holding the number of skill points you have. It's calculated and then displayed. We just made the game think you have more while the option is activated, so you could continue unlocking skills, even though you haven’t reached the appropriate level. We also included the easy Level Up option, which basically you would need to kill 132 enemies or earn XP 132 times to level up to the max level. If you do that, you will also have a high number of skill points to use.

So if you are using the trainer, and you aren't level 132, then the fix is to toggle on the Skills option BEFORE you load your savegames. When the savegame loads, you will see all your skills that you used the trainer to unlock are now unlocked.

    best,

Thank you for explaining this. I was going crazy trying to figure out what was going on with my skill points and couldn't figure out if my saves were broken or it was the trainer.

Related to this, does anyone know how often squadmates acquire new skill points? I decided that, rather than deal with activating the trainer every load, I would just use the Easy Level Up and get them "naturally". But when I did this, I discovered that while Ryder had 96 points to spend (he's level 22 right now), my squadmates only have 5 (also level 22)...this seems really low...or do your squadmates just get new skill points REALLY slowly?

Figured it out. Do NOT respec with the Easy Level Up option turned on...or load saves...which they already told us...but which I conveniently forgot...

Is that why when I was at the end of the prologue mission I was about lvl55, then all of the sudden I was lvl15-16 back at the Nexus?

Just want to note that, if you get your level above 80, the enemy's armor will start scaling with your XP Level.

So now, enemies will take an extremely long time to kill. This is what happened with Mass Effect 1 also. To fix it, there was a weapon damage modifier

I've also been having the same issue with my character level resetting.

The level is always reset when I initially load my save or if I have to reload a checkpoint after a death.

I've tried activating level cheat prior to loading my save and after loading my save, but the level will always reset upon save reload or checkpoint reload.
