I would love to get a gnome editor that works for the final version - Any chance of un-retiring this? Id be willing to pay for a trainer honestly. If I donate up to $50.00 would that get a trainer done for us?
All I really want is a way to edit my gnomes stats quickly. Its a hassle to use CE or CoSMOS to edit each skill/stat individually.
If anyone knows an editor (or can make a script for me) I would love them forever!
(Btw, the current scripts/editors dont work with the finalized steam version)

Already answered by 0x90 in the other thread to this game:
The game uses JAVA and will likely stay on the retired list.

Im having such a difficult time understanding why something as simple (and i say that, without knowing the work thats put into the ordinary trainer on here) as a stat editor would be that hard to make?
Im currently screwing about with CoSMOS on this, and the very simple default scan > next scan method is working just fine.
The only down side is, that it takes a while to bump a stat up by a single point, so you can edit it to your hearts desire. Slow as hell, but it works.
Are you telling me you cant produce anything as simple as that, that would also allow to get all the stats for the current population?
I would by all means make a cheat table myself for CE, if i knew how to. Unfortunately, i dont.
And considering the game is barely gonna be updated ANYMORE, now the lazy devs finally got this game into 1.0, are you absolutely sure we cant at least have a small reconsideration as to if we could un-retire this game?
Edit:
And one of the reasons im going through the trouble of asking you to un-retire this, is because the other three popular tools that used to work just fine, to edit stats or savegame, have either gone inactive or completely dead. They crash and no longer work with the current version or saves.

Editing a value using CoSMOS/CE is not anywhere close to being the same as making a trainer or editor for that game which has to do everything you are doing in CE automatically and then some. You're just modifying a value in memory. We have to isolate the function that calls that address and then manipulate it so that it works every time for everyone.

Yeah I saw the post about it being in Java, wasnt sure if that was still true or not. I know NOTHING about making trainers or the difficulties involved. I wasnt complaining or implying anything. I appreciate everything these guys do, and I would have understood a simple no. Sorry if I caused a ruckus Regardless, thank you for the replies guys!

So here's what I know about how this works with trainers vs editors like CE or CoSMOS (I'm only slightly versed in how these things work, so sorry if this is a bit overly simplified).
For editors, while running, you can edit stats and such on the fly, but to make an actual table, you need to find pointers and other values that shift. This is the problem for making a full trainer. You need to find constantly shifting values that change every single time the game turns on. In a game like this, those variants are pretty hard to pin down.
The other issue, of course, is that while it is definitely possible, this game never quite became popular enough for them to bother dedicating the time necessary to bother doing all the work necessary. So it was retired because they have far bigger fish to fry, so to speak. So it's on us plebs to just use CoSMOS or CE to do it ourselves. A bit tedious, but doable.
Unfortunate? Yeah, but also understandable. I'd love a trainer for this, or at least a CE/CoSMOS table, but at the same time, I understand that it's unlikely to ever happen unless some kind OTHER user were to upload it.
