Just saw that this trainer got unretired and still had the game installed so I thought I'd try it out again.

Pointed the trainer to the proper directory, booted up the game, pressed F1 at the main menu and played for about 2 hours with absolutely 0 problems. Everything worked great.

Exited the game first and then closed the trainer as instructed, but I've got no internet. Tried rebooting the computer, unplugging the cord and then plugging it back in... all the basic stuff, but still nothing.

It's probably a super easy fix and I'm just an idiot, but anyone got any ideas?

    Re-verify game files through STEAM/UPLAY.

You don't have to unplug the internet or disable the adapter anymore with the new trainer. The instructions for the latest one are different from previous versions of the trainers.

I didn't do any of that. I left my internet cable plugged in and didn't mess with the adapter at all. What I'm saying is that after I exited the game, my computer is showing that I have no internet. Whatever the trainer does to fool the game into thinking I'm offline has kept going even though the game isn't running anymore.

Not knowing exactly where the message is showing, all I can suggest is run the network troubleshooter from windows (right click the network icon down in the bottom right by the time on the taskbar and choose troubleshoot problems), let it correct it and reboot or just reboot and windows should attempt to default back to the original network settings.

Sounds like the network adapter is still disabled and never got turned back on.
