So I still have my original box and discs for this game. I used to build a new PC each year and each time I did that I had to reinstall the game (upward of 6 times at the very least and that doesn't count when I installed it on my brother's PC a couple of times). Each time I did that I would register the game anew with EA (A company that I now have a burning hate for).

Come one day and I stop playing and forget about this Diamond... then several years later I stumble upon the box for it and decided to show my kids. One of them loves the game and plays it nonstop. Which is fine, but she scratches the game disc and now I can no longer install it or even play it. So I call EA totally expecting that all of those times that I registered my game that at least one of them made it through... that registration thing I did dutifully and responsibly meant something... NOPE, not a damned thing.

They could find no record of me owning it or any registration of my CD key. "Why?", do you ask, "We don't run on that system anymore and cant provide support for any of those old games". I went round and round with them on the phone for weeks seeking another disc copy or someone who could find my registration somewhere. Nope, not only could they not find it, but when I did get a manager on the phone he blatantly refused to help me. Telling me that I might be able to find a working copy "floating around out there". Then it hit me... I have many other EA games back from early 2000 that I probably won't ever get to play again unless I hunt them down and buy them somewhere or go the illegal route. But I am not sure how illegal it is with me owning a physical copy of the game.

I just couldn't get over the straight-out dismissal of my problem and the not keeping up with my registrations. Why did you have us register the games if you weren't gonna keep track of them???
