The shortest were the mechanical hard drives that my previous laptop ate. Those never lasted beyond a year. to be fair, this was due to a design flaw where the laptop would aggressively stop the hard drive as much as possible to save battery life (which it did but at a severe cost to the hard drive's life).

I know I haven't used a dedicated sound card in years, since on board has gotten much better than it used to be back in the day. How is that card for you? As I tend to use sound blaster equipment. I might return to going dedicated sound cards.

It was primarily used for music playback. Wasn't the best choice as there are better audio setups. The amplifier was nice.
