If you're getting crackling audio, especially on the Tactical Menu, and a very low frame rate (almost to a standstill in the first mission when the dismembered hand hits the floor) it might be worth checking your audio quality settings. Control Panel->Sound->Playback tab. Select the entry with the green tick (the device your system is using for sound) and click on Properties. Select the Advanced tab and try 16bit, 48000Hz (Dvd quality). If that doesn't work try other settings. Good luck

Well, nice try. If you come across a fix for the massive FPS drops during combat (85->15), just holla.

Interestingly game runs smooth at 50-120 fps for me maxed out even when the entire screen is fangs, claws and flying body parts... but for what it is worth, a chum of mine reported also having issues with frame rate, and she saw some improvement when she went from windowed to full screen... so maybe see if that helps?

Started up my system and, yes, the problems back. I swapped to a Sound Blaster card, changed the card settings to stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 and the problem goes away briefly but comes back.
If you change the sounds settings whilst in game the game runs fine without sound so it seems likely that this is the right track i.e. sound related. Can someone else check this?
I'll have a poke around in the configs to see if that turns up anything.

Some are finding that changing the affinity settings for Deathwing to just the first and second processor resolves the problem (normally for 8 core AMD CPUs). I've tried changing the sound quality in the config but no joy there (C:\Users\\AppData\Local\SpaceHulkGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor).
Seemingly the only guaranteed way at the moment is to disable sound! I think I'll wait for the patch they're working on :P

Weird! The falling claw/hand in the first mission still makes a sound even if the audio is turned all the way down.
There are some ambient/background sounds that still play too.

Chipset drivers. I've updated mine and that seems to have sorted it. It would certainly explain the two "solutions" of the audio and the processors.
I'll post if there's any problem.
Not a single problem upto the end of Mission 3. Can anyone else test this?
