Watch Dogs 2 Message Board  

In Watch Dogs 2, Ubisoft implemented what is called "Easy Anti Cheat" which is software designed to prevent cheating in multiplayer games. We applaud them for that. However, they also enabled it (on purpose or by oversight we don't know) in the offline single player story mode as well. This made it just about impossible to try and hack the game and/or make any kind of trainer for it. We looked at it for many hours with no luck on how to get around it without having to "crack" it or the game which we would never do.

Fortunately, today, one of our loyal Cheat Happens members named "dr8breed" provided us with a way to deactivate Easy Anti Cheat in the offline mode, and it couldn't have been easier.

All you have to do is add the -eac_launcher command line parameter to your WatchDogs2.exe shortcut and when you run it, EAC is disabled, you get a window letting you know that it is disabled along with online play. Now you can easily use our trainer (Link), our free CoSMOS gamehacking tool (Link) or any other tool to modify the game and play it the way you want to play it.

Conversations with Ubisoft support, which we have transcripts of, state that they do not condone cheating of any kind, but they elude that there will be no repercussions (such as being banned from the game) for doing so in single player offline mode only. Of course, that doesn't mean that it won't happen, that's just what we were told. As always, with any cheat in a game that has both a single and multiplayer component, especially those that allow seamless transition, you must use it at your own risk.

Please note that our trainer will do this for you by you simply selecting where you have the game installed.

To other trainer makers and websites: We could have chosen to keep this information a secret for our own benefit, but we chose to release it to the public so that everyone can have a chance to cheat the game in their own way. If you decide to incorporate it into a trainer of your own, please just give us the respect of mentioning where you found the solution and especially give credit to "dr8breed" for providing it.

Chris, just want to take a minute to congratulate you and your team on what you folks did yesterday with this. It would have been real easy to keep this solution to yourselves and possibly brag how CH had the only working trainer for the SP mode of the game.

Instead, you took the high road and released the information for anybody interested. Ubisoft is able to use the Anti-cheat to keep the online game clean while people wanting to use a trainer or mods in SP now have a solution. Just one more example of you guys standing tall for the real winners in all this, the players.

It's easy to feel proud to be a member here, you and yours always do the right thing. Your level of effort yesterday, as always, was, and is, remarkable. Kudos to you and Caliber and to everybody at Cheathappens.

yea, we already know the CH team is great. In this, the real thanks goes to dr8breed

I really hope Ubi doesn't disable that command line in a future update. I would be royally miffed if it did.

To disable the Easy Anti Cheat, does it matter how I purchase and install game (Retail, Steam, UPlay)? Thoughts appreciated

EAC is part of the game, doesn't matter which sales channel you got it through. So it should not make a difference.

Nope, works exactly the same for all installations and our trainer also appears to work for all versions as well.

Question, if i use this trainer offline mode to add money and unlock stuff, than disable the trainer reload the game, to play online will that be bannable?
so i got all unlocks/money by offline mode, reset game and play online with those unlocks moneys etc?
