Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition Message Board  

Bought this game on Steam aaaaages ago, but only recently got around to installing it. I've been playing it with no issues for a couple of weeks (and really enjoying it, I must add), but last week I installed the Anniversary Update for Windows 10 and, since then, every time I launch it and select continue game, the game loads ok, but crashes to desktop as soon as I press a key or move the mouse!

#raging 😣 😣 😣

Tried several hours of Googling, but found nothing. Any help out there? It would be most appreciated!


So far, the things I've tried are:
Verify integrity of game cache - No effect
Decrease all settings to minimum - No effect
Uninstall, reinstall and run old save - No effect
Delete old saves and start a new game - No effect
Run as administrator - No effect
Run in compatability mode for Windows 8 - No effect
Run in compatability mode for Windows 7 - No effect
Hitting my head against the f***ing wall - No effect (except a big bruise and a pounding headache)

This is without the trainer running, right? Just the game itself crashing on its own?

Yep, that's right. The trainer wasn't running. I thought there might be an outside chance that it might even be because I used the old trainer in my saved game and that was now not compatible with the new windows update (like the old trainer), so I deleted the save and ran the game again. It crashed when I tried to start a new game.
