That's correct and the trainer has to be on the host machine. You basically don't 'run' the game on your secondary machine. You can only see the streamed images on your screen that run simultaniously on the host machine. You can enable options on the host's keyboard but not on the client's.

But, when you use a controller and it's connected to the host machine, not the client (both works for steam), then you can enable option via controller.

Interesting...I'm wondering, if I plug another keyboard on a virtual machine, could I access the trainer's functions and moreover some game's commands?
I'll have to try it, but in the meantime, if someone have more in-depth knowledge, it would be appreciated 🙂

a Virtual Machine is seperated from the host machine so no you can't. If you are streaming a game through steam and playing, using controller or keyboard on the receiving end sends the data to the host machine which the trainer can see so it is useable.
