Hi I just installed the Geforce GTX 1070 and of course I wanted to test it out and see how much better my FPS would be when running Doom. The best FPS I got when running the game was 60 FPS that is keeping mind that I am running with the default settings and I am running with 2560x1440 resoloution. I was told by a friend that to get better FPS I should dial down the resolouion will this really make a difference or is Doom capped at 60 FPS.

Turn Vsync off. Doom does not cap at 60. It's actual cap is 200fps.

GTX-1080. I average around 150-160 FPS with bursts to 175-200.
You can lower the resolution and turn off VSync if you're wanting better FPS as said above. You might even lower Anti-aliasing to something less than Max. Anything 60 and above should look fairly smooth though and the game will be enjoyable.

GTX1080 is a monster. Was wondering how that beast performs on Doom 🙂
