Hmm that's strange. I didnot forget to run as admin, I also have antivirus scan exclusion for ~/Cheathappens folder. As soon as I press F1 or activate manually the game stutters for a second and closes itself.
Here's the trainer's log:

After a cursory search on that error message, I did the following:
- Cleared all CH trainer data: CH work, appdata/local, appdata/roaming, programdata, etc.. All temp files removed.
- Installed vcredist 2015-2022, both x86 and x64 from Link. Rebooted twice.
- Checked and added trainer folder and CH work folder to Windows Defender Exclusion list. Disabled realtime protection.
- Re-downloaded the latest trainer.
Game still crashes when pressing F1 at main menu.
I'm on Windows 11 23H2 x64, with Windows Defender as antivirus.
Do not run the game as administrator only the trainer, just in case, it can sometimes break some links.
Hope you`ll find this strange bug soon.
Tried both ways to no avail. Right now I'm running the game in non-admin compatibility mode (Windows 7) with HiDPI override to improve performance.
I'm not sure what's happening here. I'm out of ideas.
I`m assuming your version of Windows is up to date and the trainer with the game where working properly previously, you might want to repair the OS: Link.
The second answer sound the best in your case:
"First you should try safe mode.

Perform system restore
This process will take your computer settings back to an earlier point in time where computer is working fine. If there's any changes made on your computer that removes the service, system restore should be able to fix the issue for you. To perform system restore please follow the steps below:
Open the run box by pressing the Windows key + R and type rstrui.exe
Once system restore windows open, normally it will suggest a restore point (sometimes it doesn't) if it does, select the 2nd option and hit next
Select your desired restore point date and time and hit next and finish."
But then it might only be an inconsistency between your installed apps.

No, this is the first time I've been playing this game, with the trainer, on this machine. So I don't think a system recovery would be the proper way to go. Besides, all my apps, games and trainers other than this one are working fine.
On a side note though, I found a working CE table for this game, so I'm gonna let this issue go.
Trying to get the Xbox Game Pass version of this trainer, and instead it downloads the Steam version.
Tried it 3 times already, and each time I was very careful not to select the Steam version.
Can you please fix the links?
We do pay money for those things, they're not exactly free... getting stuck on trivial but critical bumps like this one should not be happening.
so you downloaded the windows store version of the trainer? the second link? I just downloaded the trainer and it says it's the windows store version
