Small issue alongside solution, just posting in order to hopefully help others if they run into it.
If your Windows built in real-time protection is on when launching the trainer it'll launch but the process will be killed on launching the game.
The easiest solution is to shut down the real time protection for when you want to use the trainer.
Did you try creating the scan exclusions described in the trainer's instructions and keep the real-time protection enabled?

Yeah I have.
Just made sure that it was so.
Just posted, not to complain about the problem but to inform other of the existence and the solution.
It doesn't bother me as there's an easy work around.
Trainer was working fine yesterday, when I tried to use it today upon launching the application, for the first time I was prompted to choose what application to open the trainer with which seemed strange as it had never happened before.
By accident I chose Internet explorer, and did not realise the "always use" box was checked.
Now even after completely redownloading the application it still chooses to open with Internet explorer. And I seem to be unable to change it even through regristry editor as there is no "open with" opion in the drop down.
All of my other trainers work as they should, for some reason the KCD trainer did not open properly, and I now find myself stuck in this situation. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Please add the trainer exe file and the Work folder to your scan exclusions in your security software as described in the trainer's instructions.
Clear these folders -> C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\AppData\Local\Temp\
C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\Cheathappens\Work\
About having the IE now launching: If you're running Windows 10, press Win key + i -> Apps -> Default Apps in the left column -> scroll down a bit in the right column and select Reset at 'Reset to the Microsoft recommended defaults' -> reboot PC and try again.
