I picked the game up today (launch day) and I can honestly say it's well worth the bucks. It feels like Harvest Moon.
There's no lengthy unnecessary tutorial, you can choose your gender, build up your farm, perform fetch quests for villagers, woo people, name your dog Fartknocker, and all things Harvest Moon-esque.
The map takes some getting used to and the fishing is a little awkward at times but my girlfriend and I are having a lot of fun with it. I highly recommend picking it up if you're into casual little farming games like this.
Cheats might make it a little more fun if you're pressed for time but overall the difficulty level is pretty forgiving and balanced.
Sold plenty of Steam cards to get it using Idle Master so it didn't feel like paying full price.
At 15 USD or about 17 CAD it may not be in everyone's price range but it absolutely will give you many hours of play to make it feel like you're getting your money's worth.

I agree, I've played quite a few ****ty games trying to straight up imitate the classic Harvest Moon games and none of them have even tried to add anything new.
This game while at its core is a clone it does add new stuff including some combat which I found a little odd but it does help to break the monoteny since Harvest Moon at its core was a "Chore Simulator" lol.
Whenever the trainer is release I'm assuming it will have an add energy or infinite energy option and that will be the only feature I'll use.
EDIT: Also if they add a damn increase speed option that would be nice because even running your character is still so damn slow given how big the map is.

It is indeed, a great game at is core, i've been quite enjoying it, and i'm glad that the guys over at Chucklefish were the developers of this game, great company and ape is a great developer.
The complaint about move speed is valid, you move so slow, but once ya get a horse, everything is dandy. Looking forward to when they add in co-op as well, should be fun.

It's great isn't it? And made by just one guy!
My DS broke a few years ago and I never replaced it, so I've been without Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for ages, and it's my all-time favourite game. Sure, I'd tried emulating it on the PC but just didn't feel the same.
So pleased to have this in my Steam library.

TBH i want to like the game, but in the 3 playthroughs i've done so far, i seem to have hit EVERY damn bug in the game, including a game breaking one.
Given how long its taken to develop the game i'm surprised it's got as many bugs as it does. Especially since it had a lengthy alpha and beta

The time is 4 byte and it uses 24 hour time. so 9am would be 0900 and 2pm would be 1400.
