Note: For some reason brackets make lines disappear so I had to remove them from the lines, however be sure to leave them in place when editing you save.
First dump everything from your character off in either storage or onto pawns and save.
After loading your save in editor put this in the search box and hit enter once:
Don't set .nNum over 999 because you can't have stacks bigger than that. I usually stick to 500. There are 256 spots available to add items in a single shot. Don't worry about encumberance; if you are going to add bunch of items at once, then be sure to have you character standing in front of an innkeeper when you save so you can simply dump them into storage as soon as you load.
After adding in whatever you want you will need to go back to line you originally searched for, done most easily by scrolling to the top of the editor again and searching to the same line again, but this time looking at the line above it:
u32 name="mItemCount" value="0"/
You need to change to 0 to how many DIFFERENT items you added, NOT how many total items you added. If for example you added in 10 Devilsbane, 50 Virge of Madness, and 30 Bitter End, then mItemCount should look like this:
u32 name="mItemCount" value="3"/
Yes, 3 (THREE) even though you just hacked in 90 (NINETY) total weapons.
After that save and you should be good to go!

I followed your steps, step-by-step and when I got back into my game none of the items I added were there. I double checked my work before I hit save.

You emptied your inventory, changed mNum to the quantity you wanted, mItenNo to the item you wanted and mFlag to 1 and then mItemCount to how many different things you added?

Yes exactly as you showed in your instructions, I had nothing equipped, nothing in my inventory, and I followed your steps exactly, changing the various numbers to be what I wanted, I double checked my number and information, it was all correct. Do I need to have my pawns with me, because currently I am going solo.

I don't think so, but I always have pawns with me so I'm not sure. I don't see why this isn't working for you, I added over 300 items to my character(over a couple of editing sessions) yesterday and had no problems.
Here's a link to the original page I got the method from: Link
Maybe I missed something and forgot to mention it.

Thank you so very much for the link as I was able to figure out what I was missing, and was able to add in the items I wanted, again thank you so very much.

EDIT: Fixed my problem... For some reason the item count i put in wasn't exact... put a number 6 for items when it should have been a number 5... little things like that...
Overall great post and thanks for sharing...
I now have best armor and weapons in game
