I am having trouble injecting items into the game with the CH item editor. I have been able to augment a great deal of other things with this editor, but the item ID swapping seems to elude me.

If anyone can assist me on the method I would greatly appreciate it.First is it better to swap item ID's on inventory gear or gear in the bank?

Second... Here is my method (that seems to be failing)

    I search code out
    array name="mItem" type="class" count="4"
^This is the inventory code, not bank code (is this right thing to search for?)
I use the 1st one in list that comes up. (is the first one the one I look for?)

Then I go to this line
    s16 name="data.mItemNo" value="#"
I put the item ID I want into that # location. Using the item ID list.

I save and reload game... nothing changes at all.

I also read this line of code...
    u32 name="data.mFlag" value="#"
effects the tier level, but I do not know the values I am supposed to put in here... is 6 the max tier?
so put in a 6 for golden forged? or is there some other code to use for golden dragon tiered?

On external forums I have seen people saying you need to swap items to a pawn then back to main to get the item swaps to work.
Is that the case here too? Any advice is appreciated.

PS: I have made many pawn edits with this editor and I have seen their changes happen after saves, so I know this process works in general, but something about Item ID swaps is escaping me here.

I did it and there were no problems on my side.
You should always, as you already intended, swap items and not create new ones, as they will (always) delete an already existing item/stack.

The optimal way is to load any random item into your inventory, go into the editor, search for the line you stated, skip the first paragraph regardless of anything, search for the ID of the item you are carrying with you, there should be 1 paragraph about it and its properties, change the ID value/amount and be done.

You have to modify the item quantity as well as the item code. From the save editor's quick tips:

    s16 name="data.mNum" value="#"/ - Item Quantity 1
    s16 name="data.mItemNo" value="#"/ - Item ID
    u32 name="data.mFlag" value="#"/ - Item Level/Tier - Tier ID list below
    u16 name="data.mChgNum" value="0"/ - UNKNOWN
    u16 name="data.mDay1" value="#"/ - Item Quantity 2 - 2, 3 and 4 HAVE to equal Item Quantity 1
    u16 name="data.mDay2" value="#"/ - Item Quantity 3 - 2, 3 and 4 HAVE to equal Item Quantity 1
    u16 name="data.mDay3" value="#"/ - Item Quantity 4 - 2, 3 and 4 HAVE to equal Item Quantity 1

I would just change them all to 1 if you're making equipment additions.

You also need to edit the total inventory count to reflect any changes you've made on this line:

    array name="mEquipItem" type="class" count="#"

If you add an item and don't make the changes to that line the game will crash upon save load. Just add the number of entries that don't have "-1" in the "s16 name="data.mItemNo"" field to find out how many you have.

Oh, I forgot something... If you're ADDING items not SWAPPING items you'll need to edit the total inventory count as stated in the post above and when you load the save I would give all the new items to your pawn, save, quit the game, load save, and give them back to your main character and they should stay in the save from that point on. For some reason if you keep the items in your character's inventory then the game deletes them upon reload. It's weird because it doesn't delete all of the items every time but just a few.

I think the reason why the items are safe in your pawn's inventory is because the pawn's items are saved in a different place so it makes a natural edit to the save file through the game so the items are no longer cheat items but the same as ones picked up during normal play.

I typically just empty out my inventory into the Inn's item bank and just have one of each flask(Airtight, empty, water, oil, poison) and add my items in groups of five via switching.

Gold Dragonforged Coat of Oblivion ("Reduces damage from bow attacks." Note that bonus enhancement can't be gotten on that piece armor without using the editor.

    s16 name="data.mNum" value="1" (Stack size)
    s16 name="data.mItemNo" value="709" (Item ID)

    u32 name="data.mFlag" value="1777"/ (1777=GDF, 777=SDF, 65=DF, 39=3Star, 27=2star, 9=1star)

    u16 name="data.mDay1" value="3"
    u16 name="data.mDay2" value="3"
    u16 name="data.mDay3" value="3"

Despite what the thing in the editor says, I've found these do not have to match item quantity from above and they seem to control the Bonus Enhancements on BBI gear.

0= Extends duration of equipped skills
1= Boosts Strength when you've been noticed by a large group of enemies.
2= Slightly reduce damage from bow attacks
3= Reduces damage from bow attacks.
4= Has a slight restorative effect on pawns near you.
5= Your delibitations naturally heal themselves more quickly than normal.
6= Gradually restores small amounts of Health
    7= Gradually restores Health.
8= Boosts the power of normal and magick shields.
9= Extends duration of attribute boosts applied to you.
10= Slightly restores Stamina when you deliver the killing blow to the enemy.
11= Restores Stamina when you deliver the killing blow to the enemy.
12= Extends duration of you enemy holds.
13= Slightly increases maximum item-carrying capacity.
    14= Increases maximum item-carrying capacity.
15= Boosts movement speed while casting spells.
16= Prevents wind from affecting mobility.

This as far as I've got with testing on BBI items and so far it doesn't seem to do anything on normal items. I tried stack enhancements by setting all three to different ones but it didn't seem to work. Tried Player Regen, Pawn Regen, Stamina on kill but only Player regen seemed to function, further testing needed.

Gonna keep playing around with this.
People are sheep, they bleet and whine and wait for someone else to do the hard work, then when it happens they celebrate like they won a great war all by themselves.

Was the save editor removed? The link gives me 404 page not found error.

detailed guide on save-editing BBI armor/rings/.. (all master ring combos included)

    www.mediafire.com/view/xyhrrt67amkn159/DD+Dark+Arisen+Item+IDs+v2.xls

seems only mday2 should be altered for armor effects while mday1/3 should stay on 65535
