My first post! Yay!
Kinda sad that it has to be on such a noobish question. Can anyone tell me the difference between a steam and a GOG/other distributor version of the same game? I grabbed a trainer for an old-ish game that I grabbed off GOG(Infected Planet) a while ago. I have since lost access to the GOG account so I can't get updates. Anyway, the trainer for the 1.0.2.2 version is Steam/Retail, and it seems to crash my game every time I try to launch a level. Could this be from the different distributor? And would this be an issue for ALL games?
Depends some trainers will work on both and some dont.
GOG does not Sec like Steam. So that is one difference that I can think of.
E.g. DRM
