Hey, probably my first ever post, though I've been a member for years. Just want to say, I love the work you guys do, and so far haven't any issues that couldn't be easily resolved. Seriously, you guys are great!
My most recent download, the Dragon's Dogma: Dark arisen trainer, has me stumped though. It might be something obvious that I've missed, but it's an issue I've never personally seen before, and some quick searching and troubleshooting hasn't resolved it. Essentially, whenever I go to open the trainer, Windows asks me which program I want to use to open a .tmp file. I don't really know what that is, and it's a problem unique to the DD: DA trainer, as I've tested multiple other trainers (specifically Orcs Must Die and Total War: Warhammer) without issue.
So, I dunno. Any help would be appreciated. With any luck I'm just being thick and it's a super-easy fix. Thanks everyone!
Your antivirus/other security software is blocking the trainer and/or the newly created tmp file.
Make sure that the trainer exe is excluded from any AV scans. Also set up a file exclusion for the tmp file created in this location -> C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\Cheathappens\Work\ - A wildcard file exclusion like this -> ~CheathappensTrainer* would be anticipatory as many other trainers from us create tmp files with a similar name.
If your AV doesn't support file exclusions just go for a folder exclusion of the Work folder.
Should you have no clue how to perform file or folder exclusions please visit our AV Notification page, pick your product and read or watch how it's done. -> Link
When I launch the trainer, I get a windows popup asking what application to use to open *.tmp file.
I have tried all the standard troubleshooting steps, but I cannot get the trainer to run.
All my other trainers are working normally.
Anyone know how to fix this issue?
Please make sure to have created scan exclusions in your security software for the trainer exe file and the Work folder, which is created by our current trainers (marked as Trainer Manager Compatible) in this location here -> C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\Cheathappens\ and run the trainer with admin rights.
You might need to delete your current trainer, wipe your browser cache/Windows temp folder as well as the scan history/logs and the quarantine of your security software, reboot your PC and download the latest trainer again.
