The key generator runs off the cheathappens site, the problem is that it keep misplacing the file it generates whenever it gives me a link.
Oh they must've changed it then, used to be a program you ran. In any event what do you mean misplacing? Do you mean It's not actually downloading the file itself?
Didn't get it fixed, still getting banned message when using play on linux and still cant create offline key because idk why
Oh, my apologizes I thought you did. Anyway the reason it doesn't work on linux is due to the authentication it uses internet explorer and even with it installed it's unable to access it through the method it uses. I have only tested with ubuntu myself but I am fairly certain It's so on debian too.
I hope I am not stepping on myself by asking this. Are the Offline-keys tied to the machine as well as the user?

Well I was gonna run a test or 2 myself but it seems I can't generate any keys. Sadly says I have downloaded 5 keys already, even tho I haven't downloaded one in a year xD
I too am unable to generate a key using Firefox on Linux. I was however, able to generate a key on my Windows box. I am at a loss on how to proceed further.

I guess I need a better understanding of the issue. Our offline key creator, trainers, etc were never meant to run on Linux, only on Windows. If you are using some sort of Windows emulator the trainers should be able to authenticate as long as they can access the Internet Explorer API and port 80 is not blocked. We have never tested the trainers on any Windows emulation be it Linux or OSX based.

What is happening, is the CH website is generating the keys, but when you go to download the keyfile, you get told the file is not found and can not be downloaded.
I think I can explain what is going on. My knowledge of Linux is more on the end user instead of the technical side. In a sense, he is trying to run the game and trainer in an "emulated" Windows environment using a program called Wine. Wine does not work the same way as a traditional emulator. Instead of creating a virtual machine, Wine creates a "translation" layer between the program and Linux. Similar to what DirectX does between games and Windows. Unlike full on emulation, Wine will only translate the API's that are needed for a program to run.
