I think I know how all this works but I saw a video that one of the tips was that you could attach a wire from a generator to a conduit that was mounted on a house and it would power everything in the house. I don't think this is true based on my experiences trying to do it that way. I'm if I'm wrong how can get it to work that way.

Basically conduits/pylons have a "bubble" where they can send power. Physically attaching a conduit to a house means more of its bubble is inside the house, but depending on the size of the house you might need more than 1 conduit.

Yeah you need to surround the house with connections on the house walls.
