There is something... different about the markers, yes. But I haven't figured out what yet.

As far as I can tell, you can see all the enemies with red markers, but you don't get the green ones for neutral/friendly NPCs any more.. On the other hand, you wouldn't need to sneak past friendlies.. But, that's a matter of choice I guess (if, for example, you're playing the really nasty bad-guy..lol..although in that case it's natural to have a harder game..).

I don't see anyone on my compass till I aggro them. So if I'm sneaking, they don't show up on the compass until I'm discovered.
It makes logical sense, but all the recent Bethesda games have been more conducive to sneaking since you see their dots on the compass BEFORE they are trying to shoot you. I keep running into animals in the forests that suddenly pop out of the ground/water and start chewing on my ankles.
Makes me feel like my planned build is useless BC it's easier for AI-controlled mobs to sneak up on me ON ACCIDENT than it is for me to sneak up on them ON PURPOSE.
IDK if something's bugged on my end, or if this is intentional game design (I think it's the latter). It certainly makes it more "realistic". But to me, ruins the fun.

If you have a recon scope and mark them with that they will appear on it. Which is EXTREMELY useful for stealth builds.
