I been running into several problems and i think it more because i'm really not used to trainers. i try to hold on to finding cheat codes for a long time then switched to just trying console commands. started trying trainers and their really cool but i keep running into serval i cant fully get to work. i try to use www.cheathappens.com/trainer_troubleshooting.asp and i have the folder exculded not to be scanned. doesnt help im on windows 8 so that some of the trouble. but like with editors, or iambread i cant get to work even though it says it is. so was just hoping for some tips for someone that really new to useing Trainers and ways to use them to their fullest. Sorry about sounding stupid. really trying to learn. also I have two drives so not sure if that effects any of it. i have trainers on my main drive. and my games downloaded to my 2nd one. thanks for any info your willing to give.

I don't think you're stupid.
Saying that you "tried" the troubleshooting guide means you did anything that you find there or just some?
Running on Windows 8 means you haven't updated to Windows 8.1?
Is your system up to date? Do you have the latest .NET and OS updates, the latest DirectX version and/ or drivers installed?
Do you have administrator privileges when you want to use the trainer or do you use a restricted account for gaming? – I run every trainer as admin (you can do this per file; right click on the file and choose -> Run as admin).
CH provides trainers mainly for the Steam version, sometimes the Origin or retail version and not so often for the GOG or D2D version of a game. – Older games might need a Non-CD/DVD crack that has to be obtained from other resources (such as GameCopyWorld).
Does the game version and the trainer version match? – Sometimes it's tricky to find a game's version no.
Is any other program interfering such as an anti-vir or your firewall? – One or the other like to find false-positives and blocks them.
Did you read the readme file? – Most trainers work the same way, some don't. ---------------------
That's what I come up with thinking about trainer issues.

Good for health, bad for education.

You need to exclude %temp%\~Mnn133.tmp or as full path C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Temp\~Mnn133.tmp as well especially for the editors.

I have windows 8.1, i did my best to do all the steps on the guide but i wasnt sure about how close the trainer should be in the file location. and most my games are steam. not sure how to check for the version of the games on it. i believe my directx and .net is up to date. i did check my drives and os and they are up to date. i always run it with admin. and i was getting false positives untill i exculded the folder. i didnt exclude the temp folder suggested though. and i do look over the readme files and the forums related to the game if im looking for more details on it. i have malewarebytes and mcafee on my computer though. but it opens up find and says its activated and most time i dont get any error pops up and normaly when i do it a game i was taking a chance of it working. normally for trainers that dont have windows 8.1 listed.
also thank you guys for taking your time to post.
