Perhaps we need to require a minimum of 5 people reporting an update is needed before we even look at it.
Voluntary work that is of course, I would personally be willing to offer my assistance
It might be worth it to establish a separate discussion board for tossing these out to the community.
This could accomplish two things. CHU could refrain from internal testing while waiting for the five (or other amount chosen) acknowledgements from users stating the purportedly defunct trainer was in fact failing. This could also spare any others expense by relying only on gamers with the access to the title already. Having assigned volunteers might incur cost at their expense if they needed to obtain the title(s).
That being said, if possible, perhaps a notification could go out to those that have signed up as volunteers. That way if any in that group do possess access to the game they can be notified that testing has been requested.
This would still leave a gap if no others were interested or had access to test, but perhaps that would warrant retiring of a trainer or another established check procedure.
Forgive me if I am mirroring other comments as I have honestly only skimmed the discussion's first page at this point as I am viewing from work. Wanted to offer the thought that came to me just the same.
Yeah, but having more than 5 volunteers increases the chances, but I shouldn't encounter a game I can't test, even if it doesn't work on Windows 8, I just use a VM to test it. And again if there are costs for me to obtain a game, I will note it down as a donation to CH
"I just use a VM to test it",
Last time I tried to play a game in VM, the game couldn't run, no video card access in a VM environment.
Can you tell me what VM you used?
In fact it wouldn't be such a problem if CH had the space for the data, since I constantly hear: "have to re-install this or that game", nowadays terabytes drives are common and the cost is negligible compared to the precious time saved.
I have 5 swappable HDDs filled with 8 TB of games in my PC and it's still not enough, that's why I'm building another tower of swappable HDs to have my games ready whenever I want, running on the OS they where made for and the proper IE of that time.
Why go against when you can go with?
*Explodes* Dang bro. Ya got me thinking.
I use/used VMware Workstation, it has worked quite well for the games I done with it, but RAM has been an issue since my current system only got 8 GB lol
YOu will soon have 64gb when you upgrade that beast! remember needs to be Quad channel!

Sounds logical.

I dont think you have a true concept of the amount of games we own, install, work on, etc.
also, try bringing all of that with you ALL OF THE TIME, EVERY WHERE YOU GO, EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY.
it's a little more complex of a problem than it first appears..

I am guessing I will install this tennis game, only to find that the trainer already works..

I think this may be the case in point that many have been talking about on this thread. Let a few willing members try to help with glaring issues before having to waste time reinstalling an obscure title.

Someone may be able to help with that.
