yep, i just noticed it too. it only seems to happen when you deactivate the easy crafting option, and then go back to the crafting menu. i guess you could just leave the option on, but leaving options on when you dont need them is a good way to crash your game as well.....

Instant taming doesn't seem to work for me. Would anyone happen to know how to do it properly?

I did what that said but the taming is not instant. I have to wait for hours and hours.

On what dinos you're trying the taming? Some dinos especially the recent added the instant taming isn't working.

I was trying it on a Trex. I couldn't figure out how to do it. Ended up using a console command force taming and taming them

you can not have option 4 on (unlimited food) as it affects the dinos as well making their food not drain and not allowing them to be tamed

hope u will add more options for trainer
- tame some creatures
- egg incubation
- baby dinosaur

I haven't used it with the current trainer version, but it's always worked for me in the past. You enable the option, then knock a dino out however you want. Then, put some of the appropriate food into the dino's inventory. When the dino next eats, it will be instantly tamed. How long it takes for the dino to eat depends on the dino's hunger meter. Some dinos get hungry faster than others. Note that you can't force feed a dino to make this work; you have to wait for them to eat on their own.
