Hi there, I have used CheatHappens for 2 months now and successfully used 7 of your trainers. However the Vietnam '65 trainer is giving significant problems:
1. It would trigger Microsoft Security Essentials immediately, prompting a cleanup and reset of computer (Severe Alert: Trojan: Win32/Bitrep.A)
2. It seems to also reset my User Account Control Settings from "Never Notify" to "Notify when I make changes"
3. It would open a dialogue window about not being able to read a .tmp file and then close. I have been unable to use this trainer at all as it would not run successfully.
I have made exclusions in Microsoft Security Essentials in both files and processes sections. I have also shut down Microsoft Security Essentials completely (by killing the process with Ctrl-Alt-Del). That seems to make the problem just worse, now giving me error "This application could not be started. Do you want to view information about the issue". Clicking on yes brings up a page "Shim errors for the .NET Framework version and platform support"
Can you please look into this and provide a solution, as I have just wasted one of my 5 file downloads for the month. I have checked your virus section and this seems to be something different. I am concerned that my PC may have been compromised by this program.
Regards
Troye
Just ran trainer in a "PROTECTED" folder and MS defender didn't even bat an eye. All files here are, always will be and always have been safe. What you are getting is a false positive from a software MS does not even want to support anymore. Since that is what you have, I imagine your OS is win7 or older. I would add the following to your exclusion list being as dated as it is.
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\CH_Temp.tmp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\~Mnn133.tmp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\~CheathappensTrainer.tmp
as well as the folder where all your trainers are kept. Seen it was flagged already you will now need to clear the quarantine folder before you can use this trainer again.
Hey CyPHeR369, thanks for the very detailed reply and poking fun at my superior PC running the best operating system ever. Yes, don’t get me started on why Win 7 is still the king, it will be a long post 😉
Just for the record, I also have a secondary (ie inferior) PC with Windows 10 and the newer but basically identical Windows Defender, and it did exactly the same.
Anyway, I did what you suggested (except I don’t have all the Temp entries) and I guess you are the smarty-pants after all, because it worked perfectly and I am very grateful for the ever-so-slightly-biased advice.
WOOOOHOOOO TEAM INFERIORITY 1, SUPER WINDOWS 7 ZERO, mooohahahahah.
I mean, Glad it is now working for you
