I would like to know for sure before I try to use the trainer as I don't want to unplug my internet cable from my PC every time I want to play, I don't want to cheat online but also don't want to lose access to online for cheating in single player so I am going to wait for now.

It doesn't make much sense though if they are blocking trainers I played this on the PS3 and ended up with over 2 billion dollars in single player why should they care if I do that in game or do that early with a trainer? and yes there are built in cheats so why cant I use the better and more convenient trainer cheats?

I agree it doesn't seem to make much sense. I used a save editor on the 360 version for $999,999,999 cash and nothing happened. Not sure why they'd suddenly decide to crack down on PC single player, except maybe the micro-transaction angle.

Whelps... if there are indeed issues with using a trainer in SP, then I guess I wont be buying the game.. I refuse to let a company dictate how I play my single player games.

Owell.. saves me 60 bucks anyway, no matter how "cool" the game is.

Thanks for the heads up everyone... I've been using the Health and money hacks since the trainer became available... I enjoy being able to move about the game and progress without having to worry about/manage my money. A lot of my friends are playing the MP game, and I want to join them at some point, but I want to finish the SP game first. I'll be blocking this going forward (and deleting my save game once I'm done perhaps).

has anyone who is worried about this asked this question from the mods on the official GTA V forums? or contacted Rockstar North and asked them DIRECTLY?

wouldn't that be the best source?

    best,

There are always one or two people who claim to have been banned for using a trainer in single player.

Given the small number who make this claim balanced against the hundreds or thousands or more who have no problem, one must logically conclude that the trainer is not what they were banned for.

The only problem with the trainer I've found is that if you've been cheating with ammo and have some ridiculous amount in your stock, then switch characters, you can crash when trying to shoot out of a car window right away. This led to minor annoyance in the first heist because I wanted to shoot at the cops in the river as Micheal, but hey the truck works too. So I'll just cheat for money and make sure I always buy ammo.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Since no one knows for sure, as soon as I got the game activated and made sure it was working, I blocked the game .exes from network access and it was still showing me online, I went under \Program Files\Rockstar Games\Social Club and blocked the subprocess.exe and now it shows my profile as "offline" when I start the game. It seems to run just fine as I've played it for several hours today with the trainer.
