I have about 300 original cd's some of them pretty rare and all of them in mint condition except for two which I bought from 2nd hand because I couldnt find them anywhere.
I still buy a cd here and there for the sake of nostalgia, nothing like that feeling of opening new cd smelling that booklet and the sound oh the sound..
I have full collections of the following:
Metallica
Megadeth
Pantera
GN'R
Iron maiden
Motorhead
Sound garden
Alice in chains
Dream theater
Nirvana
Pearl jam
And many more partial collections.

Sadly I dont really deal with CD's no more. The take jump room just like DVDs and games!
Oh yeah and sadly no MiniDisc player. I wasn't heavily into music at the time when they came out. The only thing I can see that it had going for them was that they came in the outer protective shell (kind of like a PSP disc) that made it harder to damage. I do have some CDs that are badly damaged and can't listen to them.
I do have a working Walkman Cassette Player though. Takes AA batteries and plays all your favorite mix tapes.
I have a working walkman too and a double cassette stereo player with turning heads and even some orginial cassettes.
I also have a working 'Sony' discman.
Hold on to these relics guys some day it will be worth a lot..

I have some walkmans kicking around to. Little damanged but the certainly work. As for my cassettes......I think I dumped mine. But I know the ol man has two drawers full of them.
Heck I even have some of those wee radio players to. You plug your ear phones into. One is a Pepsi one.
