It's not that expensive to begin with...
SIMCITY '13 deluxe was $80 at launch... This one is $40...
also, this game solves every issue that SIMCITY had, so why not pay full price???
Because not everyone has a disposable income in which they can buy anything without fear of getting broke. I'm a college student and I only had about $30 left after paying for my spring tuition fees last week. Although I am getting paid next week, it's a fool who buys a game without looking for better deals. The devs still get their money in full since it's GMG that pays the difference if there is any. Why wouldn't you look for a deal?
Regardless of other games and their pricing structure, I will always look for a deal on games unless Steam is the only place to get a Steam-redeemable copy.
Edit: I was brushing my teeth when I remembered Valve has a 30% fee on all games sold on Steam. So effectively, the devs get $21 from the $30 package. Depending on how sales work on GMG, the devs could probably make more money from sales on GMG than on Steam. :/

Gamesrocket has the game for less than $21 bones.
Thanks for the website. Didn't even know there is a site called Gamesrocket. Just bought the game!
