Probably although you won't know if you don't try. If it does break then verifying the game cache should fix it.

Was PB a completely seperate full install and did you play any of the games online MP? I was reading about PB on its Wiki [url]en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PunkBuster#Games_using_PunkBuster'>Link which also has a list of all the games. Some no longer use it because of 64 bit.
Does PB install when the game installs then waits for the game to be used in an online MP mode, or does it install and activate only if/when the online multiplayer mode is detected?
A more current list of games using Even Balance's PB is at their site [url]www.evenbalance.com/index.php'>Link with some start dates here [url]www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=announce.php'>Link
I've played several of the games listed on the last two updated links however I never play online MultiPlayer and I've never seen anything to do with PB on my PC. Far Cry 3, some versions of Battlefield and some of the Assassin's Creed series although the AC games are only listed on the second PB link of start or new contract dates.
I've not seen PB on my PC even while playing those titles, so what triggers it to be installed on a player's PC?

Just go into the windows services file and disable it it comes with the game as a tag along file and in steam it loads up with the game and it only comes on in mp mode but it does pick up false positive reports and bans people it if it still works like the same way it bans harddrives in pc

It's just anti cheating software for multiplayer games you wont be able to connect to a game online if its not installed and the server has it. Punkbuster has been around for a very very long time and is safe but I am sure it loads with windows when you turn on your computer. You can uninstall it from add\remove programs without a problem if you only play single player. It also will not interfere with trainers from here when your playing single player.
