--I was blind to not see that it was the same game--

After watching a German youtube stream of XXL, I have to say Shame on Focus Home for re-releasing the SAME EXACT GAME as it's previous versions... Sure it has Multi-core support, but who cares??? The entire game has NOTHING NEW... Thankfully I got an INSTANT refund as the game isn't out for another 6 hours where I'm at.. I will be adding Cities XXL to the games I hate most list.. SIMCITY (2013) is now been bumped down to #2 by this idiotic game..

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME... There is in fact a way to get multi core support in ANY previous game, it's a SIMPLE text editing process.. Just google it.. Also, I got Cities XL Plat to use 4 GB's of ram, also a simple text editing process.. I am now looking forward to Cities Skylines, might not be what I want as far as visuals go, but it's still in Alpha... But at least THAT developer has the courage to SHOW THEIR GAME in real-time videos...

I have to say I'm super ticked I even thought of buying the XXL game... it's the 4th version of the SAME BASE GAME... Their facebook team LIED on their page, they said, NEW ENGINE (LIE) new GUI (lie, okay it's black, not blue, still a LIE, not that different) and they are basically releasing a "New" game on the premise that they finally fixed stuff that MODDERS have already fixed for FREE..

This is the first game I have EVER requested a refund on.. Hopefully the LAST..

Can Steam already put a BUY NOW button on Cities Skylines???

--In the trainer request page I spent 883 credits for a trainer, for a game I now will never play--

I only wish I could get those credits back..

Seriously DO NOT BUY THIS GAME...

Focus Home Interactive made a Poor choice in not trashing the old game code altogether.. I would rather have a Fresh new game than a rehash...

It has more buildings, environments, maps, landscapes and more ecological options.

Plus it has workshop support on Steam, allowing public mods to be included.

The engine has been changed, it uses APIs more efficiently to stop memory leaks from before. But thats the pre-release version people have been getting to show it off.

I have only played it about 4 hrs, simulation type games are a bit meh for me, but still got picked for testing... at least I will give them bug reports, others have just been playing it and not reporting bugs etc.

Also in all fairness you can't watch a youtube video or a stream and think.... damn this is crap... because people have different PCs, if you watch a video of someone with an older architecture of hardware playing it - it will look slower.

So far it has been ok for me, and it does have a 64bit version so will use more RAM. And a game like this needs as much RAM as possible. Because each person, car etc has its own AI on where to go etc, that will push your system.

People who have Cities XL can get XXL for half price, so its not like it is breaking the bank.

You were silly getting a refund based on a video, think a few others said the same to you on Steam, yep I saw the thread there.

Well I guess we can all judge the game by ourselves in a very short while...

according to Gamershell, this game was released by Focus Home Interactive today.

They also released a "Launch Video" to coincide with the game's full debut.

I'm just installing the game right now. I'll let you know if it has the built-in cheat menu and if the topic creator was a little too quick to judge.

    Edit: I installed it.

So in the options from the main menu you can choose Expert Mode, which unlocks all of the buildings immediately, supposedly because in my 1st game the buildings were still locked so I'll have to figure out what it means exactly. In game there is a cheat menu to ADD CASH, view DEBUG INFO, UNLOCK BUILDINGS, ADD TOKENS, REMOVE CHEAT TOKENS, ACCELERATE BP CONSTRUCTION and to REMOVE ACCELERATION ON BP.

As for the new things in the game. When you pick a city, you can choose between landscapes (Snow, Sand, Desert, Island) instead of just the resources. The gameplay is pretty much the same though which is probably why owners of the previous games could pre-order it with 50% off.

You can filter the buildings by era, culture, style and game version. I guess everything from the previous games is included. The music is also kind of nice.

Nevermind, this game is the same. Even the process in Task Manager is still called CitiesXL.

    Hi everyone,

hm iam just dissapointed too because i dont like the new building menu and the sound really sucks compared to cities xl 2012

There IS a cheating menu like in the games before but whats missing again is the cheat for a better balance.

i think youre right you have to play it some hours to build up your mind but i quite agree that compared to all the cities xl before there are really not THAT much changes at all :/

i like the game so i will play it but i dont think i had to change from cities xl 2012 to this one at all.

give it a chance perhaps you will find more changes in the later game.
