    I found out how to get rid of that annoying as hell on screen blood. I found it illogical that every time you got into a battle your eyeballs got plastered with blood and guts. Im Asian so i rarely get stuff in my eyes lol. Find this line in default_levels.xml and change from 1(on) to 0(off).

    n="SplatsEnabled" v="1"
    to

    n="SplatsEnabled" v="0"

    I searched all the "fist" values and changed them to absurd numbers like 1000. I started the game up with those values and every punch on contact knocked a zombie 100+ yards away, but the way the punching physics were built into the engine the zombies dont fly backwards oddly instead they fly to your left in the direction your haymaker ended. My problem is, i want to make the kicking force an absurd value but cant get the values to stick/anything to happen.

    Instructions

    Go to your game directory Dying Light\DW\Data0.pak
    Unzip Data0.pak with 7zip or WinRAR to any location you desire.

    Go to your extracted folder and find \data\skills\default_levels.xml and open it with a plain text editor.

    Copy and paste the modified default_levels.xml file to \Documents\DyingLight\out\data\skills - you may have to create these directories manually.

    Start game

    There is a ton of things you can change but i cant figure out how to make many of them stick. I got the punch force to work but not the one i wanted; the kick force.

    I modded the Data0.pak just before.
    But that was only to remove the horrible film grain.
    Seemed to still work.

    I´m scared of updating my game now, because I had the most awesome mod made:
    n="ThrowHookRopeLength" v="999.0"
    n="RopeMaxEnergy" v="9999.0"
    n="RopeEnergyRegenTime" v="0.1"
    \User\Documents\DyingLight\out\data\skills\default_levels.xml

    The Max energy I haven´t tested yet, I just now edited it because In game, when grappling some very distant object, the rope would cut off in mid flight, and I suspect it is because the rope has it´s own energy as well as the length, which it drains when in flight.
    Another weird bug is I noticed during nights, if I grappled some very distant location, my character would freeze in this spiderman pose with his arm out, and the rope floating in mid air. Exiting to main menu and continuing fixes it because you spawn in the closest safe zone, all normal.

    But it is simply awesome to be leaping around with an instantly recharging long range grappling hook

    tried this as well and values >100 cause glitches. Also the RegenTime. The reloadspeed bugs out as well. I suppose the animations are only optimized for one speed only (unlike Borderlands or other games). The damage and critical multiplier works. I only have the 'alternate' version of the game. There is no release here.

    Awesome find im going to try it out on my unpatched game. Ill report back any issues. Since Techland is being dumb and blocking modding i made two installations. One is unpatched and the other is updated. I play the the patched version and use the unpatched to screw around with when im bored.

    Edit: After testing out your numbers

    n="ThrowHookRopeLength" v="999.0"
    n="RopeMaxEnergy" v="9999.0"

    I changed rope length to 100.0 to see if it would fix the the annoying glitch happens were your hand is frozen when the rope is thrown out too far. RopemaxEnergy doesnt seem to have any effect because i tried from 9999.0 to 5000.0 to 1.0 and i dont see anything affected by it. Im still falling short after throwing too long, so i left it at the original 1.0.

    Edit 2:Ok so i tried n="ThrowHookRopeLength" v="50.0" from the original of 25.0, thats double the length of original and does not cause the annoying freezing glitch. I find its still a very OP distance and does not cause glitch. I will test 75.0 but i know for a fact anything beyond 100.0 causes glitch. Maybe there is another value we need to modify to fix the glitch but i cant find it.

    [Edited by fox23vang, 1/31/2015 6:03:46 PM]

    Edit 3: So i just tested 75.0 and it still causes the freezing glitch. 50.0 seems to be as good as its gonna get without totally breaking the immersion of the game via odd freeze glitch. Still im very happy with 50.0 its double the length and still feels overpowered.
