I have been using 7-Zip to extract files for many years, having since moved on from WinRar and WinZip over a decade ago.
IT seems that 7-Zip never adopted zipx files and I had to install WinZip to extract the +11 trainer.
Is it possible to update old trainers to use zip or rar or other common file formats, especially for games that have been re-released online? WinZip / Corel seems to be pretty shady now, wanting 30 dollars to buy it or giving you a 'trial' that wants to change your homepage, then offering to give you WInZip for free if you sign up for partner programs. Thanks!

No, sorry. Google Chrome decided that every .zip file on our site was malicious, but the same contents in .zipx were perfectly fine. So, you convince Google to allow .zip files on our site and we will be happy to change it back. Let me know what they say.
