In case no one figured it out yet, change the system time (OS time/Windows time) to finish the war room missions faster.

How do you change the system time?

Ha! I didn't think of that, thanks Spylord!

@Cryshal, the clock on the bottom right of your toolbar, right click it and there should be an option that says "adjust date/time". Click that and it should be pretty straightforward. Pretty sure its like that on most versions of windows, but I'm going off Win 7.

Then my next question is: How does that make the war missions faster, and why should I want to?

the game looks at your system time at the moment that you start the war room mission. It then uses the system time to tell it when the correct amount of time has passed and the mission is complete.

Using the system time method you can start a mission that takes any amount of time, 24 hours for example, then save your game. Exit the game change the time to 1 day in the future. Load the game and your save back up and the mission will be completed.

It is an old school trick for speeding up or advancing an otherwise possibly long time sink.

Hah! I am an imbecile for not thinking of that on my own.

    Cheers.

You dont have to save and exit game either. just start the mission, ALT+TAB to desktop, Change system clock, ALT+TAB back to game. just did this last night.

Because instead of waiting the time it takes for them to finish, they can finish instantly. For example, a 24 hour war mission can be done in seconds by changing the date to tomorrow.

You don't have to, but for those who don't want to wait and get more missions done, they can do this.
