and yep, I have checked every workaround for this and my problem is a little different. Before anyone chimes in: It's not the trainer as I have been able to play with the trainer for the past 20 hrs of gameplay.
As soon as I try to connect Uplay online (while having uplay in-game overlay and proxy connection disabled in their settings - workaround 2 and 3) the game freezes at "saving". Always at the same spot.
Also, I deleted the original acu.exe and had it replaced by steam by verifying game files and the problem still occurs.
I can play the game with uplay set to offline.
And before anyone assumes I got caught with the trainer during co-op, it was off. I never use trainers in multi player environment even if this would benefit my fellow players.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'd appreciate some comments and/or suggestions, thanks a bunch.

Is your hair red? If so.... nahhh im joking
Sounds like a server problem on their end, there is nothing you can really do, except play offline until it is fixed, seems that you crash during the sync process with save games.

hahaha whats up bud
naw, my hair's light brown actually.
Yea, had the feeling it was on their end because unlike others I did not have any technical issues beforehand.
I'll just wait it out, thanks dab!

I also have this issue, along with a large number of people on the ubisoft forums, it seems to be an error when the game crashes it corrupts the save, then online it just won't work.
You can get back online by deleting your save game in the uplay folder and the finding the 720 folder under savegames, then deleting the .save files in there.
This does mean you lose all progress and there is no way to ensure this doesn't happen again in the future, or wait for ubi to fix it...

Yea, I read that much on the net but to me this is an ongoing problem with ubisoft and their several titles. On top uplay is the worst platform you can have. Never had these kind of problems with steam.
Anyways, the 720 folder is probably the steam folder, I assume or is it a Ubisoft folder? I have deleted all folders right now but I cannot even sign in offline any longer so I gave up, so tired of this company.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames
Is the folder you want.

well, thanks and I've tried it all but can't log in anywhere, neither the Ubisoft forums, nor their main site, nor uplay. I get login error on their sites and requested a password change and even after that password change I get login error.
Uplay keeps telling me "A Ubisoft service is not available at the moment..."
If I try to run it in offline mode I get "If this is the 1st time..." even though I've checked " Always run uplay in offline mode" it won't let me sign in. This has been a duplication of the hassle i've had with AC3 and AC4. Oh well, there are other games.
