@ 0Gungrave0: I just noticed I already have AC-3, Liberation and Freedom Cry. They were part of that 75% off group. What did you think of Freedom Cry, I didn't see it in your list?

@ yarddog1210: What did you think of AC-3? You agree that's a good one to skip? And Liberation?

I'm noticing in Revelation I'm now doing more directing of Assassins from the roof than fighting. I'll finish it anyway but I'm not too keen on that. The combat is what drew me to the series to start with.

I appreciate it fellas. I really don't think I want to play every version, it just gets to be too long and drawn out with 9 or 10 versions of it.

Tried playing freedom cry and it was ok, I just hated how you would go about unlocking some things by freeing X number of slaves for each item/weapon.

People just didn't like AC3 because there was more exploring in the wild. To me AC3 had the best amount of DLC.

AC4 was a great game, but a joke with the "Season Pass" you only really got Freedom Cry and the rest was silly cosmetic stuff.

AC:Unity is alright so far, I haven't really played it much, because everything has came out at the same time.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

People hated AC3 because it had so many bugs, quite possibly the most of any AC game in recent memory.

The gameplay was fairly cookie cutter with the annoying bit having to travel such long distances to do everything.

I think AC4 brought much to the series with the naval combat, and I'm really feeling the huge lack of all the innovations of that with Unity, I mean I know the era of pirates and privateers was over but all unity really does is polish (and not very well in my opinion) urban settings, gunks up combat, and tries to further evolve the parkour system...

but for what it adds the loss of the naval mechanics was like cutting a huge chunk out of the game, (it makes sense that they did, naval combat stopped being a focus, I'm not denying that) but Unity doesn't end up adding anything in particular of note to replace it and wow us in any sense. the coop's alright but its just same schtick with others, there's not a huge innovation in it, its not an original idea and I'd argue it actually doesn't add as much into AC as it does in other games (like FC4)

that being said... maybe I'm thoroughly biased... I wouldn't have minded in the slightest if they'd dropped their convoluted past/future plot and just changed further iterations into 'assassins of the Caribbean' and just kept to that era for a bit longer even if it cashcow'd like AC2's expansions did to keep us playing with Ezio.

Well, I just finished Revelations. I found it to be a love-hate game. One minute I was totally enjoying the gameplay, but the next I was cussing at Ubisoft and that mountain of names you have to watch at the end. 20 blasted minutes you have to watch before you can go back in to finish anything you left hanging.

After three of the titles in a row (I skipped #1) two things are certain. I'm really sick of trying to finish missions in 6 or 8 minutes for the 100% sync. And I'm kinda tired of stealth play, at least for awhile. I wanna be seen and heard when I'm dismembering bad guys. Think I'm gonna take a break and play South Park that I just picked up in the Steam sale. That may be just what I need before continuing on in the AC saga.

Overall I'm enjoying the series and I'm mostly satisfied with what I've done to this point. Just makes no sense that you can go 2 or 3 games honing your Assassin skills only for them to give you missions and tell you not to kill anybody. WTF.

Anywhich, I'd rate AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations a collective 7.5 overall. Time to checkout Cartman and Co. in South Park.

An aside, I continue to be satisfied only buying games on sale. No more full price for me. Been doing that for almost 2 years. Steam's current sale has lots of games that are only about 30 days old that I found for 25% to 66% off.

AC2 blew me away, Brotherhood was already boring but still had a nice environment and some new features. Haven't finished any of the others because I just couldn't bare the boredom with AC3 as the epiphany of OMG-why-do-even-bother-playing?. This series is dead for me, they still make nice trailers though.

Well, sadly, AC3 is proving to be a flop for me, too. I mean, they've messed up the controls so much it's pathetic. To shoot the gun you have to hone in with a Precision key, then select the gun from the weapon wheel, then use the tools key to fire it. WTF were they thinking? That process was fine in previous titles, I guess they forgot if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Topping that off, last night I had to give my young Indian friend lessons in killing and skinning animals. I like killing bad guys, not Rabbits, Deer, etc. I tried to just quit the memory but the game kept restarting it anyway.

I hope it gets better from here, so far AC3 is a black mark on the series.
