Remember when people said StarForce was busting optical drives?
And how everyone on every forum said it was BS, and that it was impossible that such a thing could happen, that it had to be properly tested before it was implemented...
Until every company stopped to use it... because IT WAS frying hardware.
Those were good times.

Are you old enough to remember back when scientists told everyone to stop eating eggs because the yolk had carcinogens in them? then after the panic spread, they came back out and said "oh wait nvm the egg whites NEUTRALIZE the carcinogens in the eggs..." its the same effing thing, people jump to conclusions about stuff too early only to realize they just shoved their own foot in their mouth.
I've been using alienware gaming riggs for the past 8 years, and you know why i even bought a 2nd one? bigger screen. No, my hardware didnt cave, especially with 2 ssd's in raid 0. BOTH my alienware laptops have been fine, even with the constant installing/uninstalling i do(i am very whimsical when it comes to what game i feel like playing everyday) i mean in just 1 day i had installed, AC:U, DAI, Wargame Red Dragon, reinstalled diablo 3 and also starcraft 2.... and that was just 1 day.
TLDR: wait till more testing comes out before u all start running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
i tested this theory with slightly worrying results. There is a program called SSDLife that scans your ssd, and works out the average lifespan. I ran it before playing and after playing. And after playing for about 3 hours my ssd's estimated life was reduced by 8 days.
Does your SSD have your OS on it? If so did you set your User/Temp/Program File folders to another drive?
Also the page file too.
Of course they wouldn't do that on purpose.
All these publishers have jumped into bed with yet another destructive DRM scheme. They just saw the $$$ rather than waiting to see if it had any issues
If the DRM did as the source in the OP claims it did, the game would basically be unplayable on regular mechanical hard drives due to the shear number/frequency of writes it makes to the disk constantly. An SSD can handle it just fine (especially considering the write cache on the SSD would probably have taken care of it in the first place), but on a mechanical drive the game would stuttering and hitching like mad. Not to mention that original quote makes it seem like the author didn't even understand how SSDs handle wear leveling or what wear leveling even was.

Good grief, Toki! How the heck are you.... no, wait...you're not. Zowie, Toki. My old pC was a Core 2 Quad Extreme @ 3.2 Ghz. and I had problems in some games.
Are you building the new PC...a desktop? Just having to allocate funds as they are available, or are you having it built? Dude, I feel for you. That must be difficult.
How many more components do you still need for it anyway? Be ready by XMas ya think? You get that new one finished and you might not sleep for Days bro. Hang in there.
I am building it myself. But due to money state (e.g. Jobless and on Wellfair). *Shudders* Its taking time to get the components together. So far I only need the CPU, Case, PSU and GPU.
GPU will be last in hope the price will drop. I should hopefully get by with the onboard and CPU GPU till I can get the GPU I want. So it will be after Xmas. Probably Feb next year in time for my Witcher 3 Collectors Edition.
Say what? You mean so far you have the memory and case fans but need everything else? Good grief Toki. You gotta slow down on those Collector's Edition games and save for your pc parts bro. It could get worse, ya know. God forbid the one you do have develops problems. (knock wood)
I'd imagine the whole job outlook where you are is probably much the same as it is ost places, few and far between. Well, with XMas coming soon, might be a good idea to give your parts list to relatives. Get presents for your pc instead of some flying, whirling dervish or socks and boxer shorts.
I hope you don't need socks and Boxers, too.
