I'm just going to ask a question that someone will surely ask in the future, plus I'd like to know anyways. Will hacks get you banned if you use them when not in offline mode? I don't expect this to be answered right away, unless there has been mention of VAC support, but it's important to ask asap before people get banned without knowledge.

You probably will be banned if you use them on multi or coop. But not on single. It was that way with the previous games.

Ac games install punkbuster to prevent cheating, and if you delete it then you can't play multi at all. The trainer is only designed to be used in single player only.

It is a possibility. You use them when connected online at your own risk.

Thanks for all the quick replies! That was pleasantly surprising. I'm going to push my luck and ask a follow up question: if you use a hacked character online (maybe even coop) that you edited in offline that just unlocked all items or edited x amount of money, would that be of consequence?
There's a lot of games that give surprises with stuff like that, whether people being surprised that it would ban you or surprised it wouldn't, so I'd just like being sure.

Your best bet is to keep your offline and online gaming lives separate. Don't cheat at online game, even if it is just unlocking things.
Past actions are no predictor of future action. You also wouldn't want to be the reason they felt they suddenly had to start taking action.

I agree that there'd be some type of penalty for cheating online. I, myself, love to cheat on single player mode for the story. But I'm sure many of the online players would hate a game which allows someone to have an invincible avatar.

So it seems they still allow you to play, you just don't get to earn Uplay points or get added to the ranking...
