Far Cry 4 Message Board  

hi, just wanted to know if i should hold off pre-ordering , until the the trainer is released just in case it only works on one specific version.

it would be nice to know in advance for games like this where there are multiple sellers.

we will be purchasing our copy on STEAM..

It's not currently on the UK Steam. It was up for all of a day or so, before it was unceremoniously removed without comment. Could have been due to the outrage at the price in pound sterling it was put up at, or it could be our retail stores holding the publishers to christmas ransom again.

I imagine it'll appear on our Steam at some point in the new year, so it's up to you if you want to wait for that or grab it on release on one of the alternatives. No idea if a trainer made for the Steam version would work on them, though.

If it is anything like Far Cry 3 it is going to require the UPlay app anyways so it should still work. I know the Steam trainer for Far Cry 3 worked and I had the UPlay version.

Know their have been some issues a few times with origin at least when it came to plants vs zombies where origin game would not work with trainer so would say steam or uplay over origin.

I didn't know that Far Cry 3 was released on steam. I thought it was only playable with Uplay, and seeing as the trainer always worked, I was none the wiser. LOL

And with Far Cry 4, I have pre-ordered the boxed edition, which I assume will require Uplay.

Bought Far Cry 3 off Steam, downloaded the trainer from CH, everything worked well. I finished the game sometime last June. I discovered I had to use Uplay which was annoying but had no issues aside from a slightly longer loading time. I've had more problems with Origin so grudgingly I'd give Uplay the nod.
