Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition Message Board  

So now that the updated game has been out for a bit, I'm finding myself a bit confused about how guns work. I seem to lose them all the time for seemingly no reason. I'll save the game with one, and load to not have it, I'll get in a car, and lose it, etc. Normally I can see the gun in the upper right corner, and down on my Dpad (360 controller) holsters and unholsters it).

The only reliable way I can seem to find to get a gun is to load a junk outfit, then load into one of the DLC outifts in my hideout.

I know this game is centered around hand to hand combat, but surely there are some guns stashed somewhere convenient and I'm just overlooking them? Or I'm just missing a button and I'm not actually losing my gun all the time?

most unlocked guns either from dlc or otherwise is USUALLY stored in your safehouse. the main character dumps the gun when he is out of ammo unlike example GTA where you keep it unless you die/get arrested. it's a hassle i know but otherwise your best bet is to find and memorize a spot where there is armed thugs.

Where are they stored in the safehouse? I only have the first safehouse at the moment, is that my problem?

ok the first part of this game is hand to hand combat, till you get given a gun. till you reach this point guns will only be available if you steal them from thugs and wont be stored till you reach your first gun mission

if i don't remember wrong they are usually laying around on the bench in the kitchen. also i have a faint memory of the just cause 2 gun being unlocked by having a save file.. cant really remember though..
