Fable Anniversary Message Board  

The problem with the Anniversary version is mainly that it's not mouse friendly. It wasn't originally going to be released for PC and it's pretty apparent when you try to use the menus, inventory, and such. The other problem with this version on the PC it looks a little blurry and washed out, but this can easily be fixed with a quick edit to a couple game files. Really though; aside from some modest, but noticeable texture and and graphical improvements, a different menu/inventory layout, and the DLC outfits & weapons it's the same EXACT game as The Lost Chapters version. Just now it's a pain in the ass for people who normally use a mouse.

I love using a mouse for most games but some games like fable and prince of persia are better with a controller. That's why I have several usb controllers. I seem to enjoy sword wielding games more with controllers. There are always exceptions though. I can play the assassins creed games either way.

Thanks again for all the feedback, I have decided its a worthwhile purchase. What about the DLC? Do you feel that they are worth it or not necessary with the trainer? Cheers

I love the game. I played it when it came out way back when. Like 2004? lol. And the updated graphics just make it soooo much better.

at the moment there is no DLC that adds any content so you would be fine unless you just want to have more cosmetics ect for sell in the shops while you play, the game plays really well with a Xboxone/360 controller has some slight issues with kb/m but they are working on that.


overall i would say purchase it.

Honestly? Since i played it before I'd much rather replay the old version. i find the new textures to be damn ugly, sort of smeared up. The feel of the original was much better. Totalbiscuit's "Wtf is...?" is pretty much on the point of how i feel about it.

You might be one of a hand full of people. I think 95% of anyone who plays this will say it is way better.

That's just my opinion though.

I agree that most things look better, but not all things. In fact; the things that I think don't look better, actually look worse.

The sad thing is it's the character faces. The new faces aside from a couple look stupid in comparison to the original models. Maze's looks lower res, Lady Grey doesn't look pretty anymore, and the hero as a child looks "special". Even the Demon Doors look worse.

You can see the lines in the textures were the model skins are fused together. The more revealing clothes (particularly on female characters) do not not look like skin is showing, but instead shiny leather.
